The magazine "Vida Rural", a leading publication in the agribusiness sector, published an article entitled "The Importance of Research in Safeguarding Plant and Animal Genetic Heritage – LIFE SOS Pygargus project”, which addresses a key issue: the urgent need for the country to maintain competitive and sustainable cereal production, whilst preserving unique genetic resources that could be lost if these crops are abandoned. Nuno Pinheiro, a researcher at INIAV – the National Institute for Agricultural and Veterinary Research, a project partner, is the lead author of the article.
